Leyard Stars Education Fund Assists a School in Tibet
A delegation from Leyard and the employee sponsored non-profit in China, called the Leyard Stars Education Fund, visited the snow-covered plateau of Quinghai Guoluo in Tibet to visit the Diajilizhong Tibetan Medical Vocational School. The school provides free tuition and accommodation to disabled and orphaned children, along with children of poor families in the region. The delegation visited the classrooms, dormitories, and a home of one of the students in a remote village.
Droma, the student whose home they visited, commented, “I want to be a Tibetan medicine doctor in the future, bringing benefits to the people and changing the fate of myself and my family.” The visit ended with a ceremony to commemorate the donation of 100,000 yuan (approximately $15,000) to help fund scholarships for students and salaries for teachers.
