Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) is a comprehensive global rating system for electronic devices operated by the Green Electronics Council, a non-profit whose work was initially funded in part by a grant from the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
Devices registered in the EPEAT database are thoroughly evaluated for:
- The reduction or elimination of environmentally-sensitive materials
- Product longevity and lifecycle extension
- Responsible end-of-life recycling
- Energy conservation
- Responsible packaging
- Corporate performance
All products on the registry meet the latest technical specifications for ENERGY STAR® and are classified as Bronze, Silver, or Gold depending on the number of criteria met. Planar is proud to offer a variety of displays with a Silver rating for the United States market.
